Biography

Former Manchester United midfielder Rebecca May joined Derby County Women in August 2023.

May joined the Ewes after leaving the Women’s Super League outfit at the end of her contract earlier in the summer.

She had come right through the ranks at United, having initially joined the club at Under-10s level, and made her senior debut in February 2020 off the bench in a 1-1 draw against Reading. She continued her development with United’s Under-21 side before leaving the club ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

May has been capped by England at Under-17 level and also gained a call-up to the Under-19s squad in 2020 but didn’t get match minutes during the La Manga tournament.

She proved to be an integral part of Sam Griffiths’ squad notching up 16 appearances and six goals.
