Biography

Defender Megan Tinsley re-joined Derby County Women in the 2019/20 season after previously having a spell with the club as a youngster.

The left-back began her career as a youngster at Handley Wood JFC and also had spells in Derby and Sheffield United’s Academy set-ups. She enjoyed senior football at Sheffield FC and Sheffield United Women before returning to Derby, initially on loan, in the 2019/20 campaign.

Tinsley was forced to miss the entire 2022/23 season as a precautionary measure after suffering from a heart problem. She was an integral part of Sky Bet and the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Every Minute Matters’ campaign to inspire the nation to learn lifesaving CPR in May 2024.

She suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula in January 2024’s league fixture against Liverpool Feds, which was subsequently abandoned.

Tinsley entered the 2024/25 season with 76 matches and seven goals to her name for Derby.
