Biography

Lennon Wheeldon was one of a number of players to step up Derby County’s Under-21s squad in the lead-up to the 2024/25 campaign.

Striker Wheeldon joined Derby from Notts County as an Under-16s player and he is regarded as an ‘old fashioned’ frontman.

He made five league appearances for the Under-18s during the 2021/22 campaign after impressing for the Under-16s.

In 2022/23, he stepped up his development and made 25 appearances which included five for the Under-21s.

He netted nine goals over the course of the campaign including an impressive hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Liverpool Under-18s.

Wheeldon continued to impress over the course of 2023/24, scoring for the Under-18s and Under-21s, and in November he made his senior debut when he was brought on as a substitute in the Rams' EFL Trophy Group Stage victory over Wolves Under-21s.
