Biography

Midfielder Kira Rai has been part of the Derby County Women set-up for a number of years.

She progressed through the youth ranks in the Women’s set-up, joining as an Under-10s player, to eventually earn herself a place in the senior squad.

Predominantly a winger, Rai is capable of playing in several attacking roles at the top end of the pitch.

In December 2023 the Sikh Network, in conjunction with the Sikh Federation and the APPG for British Sikhs, hosted their Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurpurab (Birthday) Celebrations at the Houses of Parliament - Rai was presented with an award for her contribution to sport as a British Sikh living in the UK.

She entered the 2024/25 season with just under 100 appearances and 12 goals to her name for the club.
