Jack Thompson

Goalkeeper Jack Thompson joined Derby County Under-18s as a first year scholar in the summer of 2023.

He’s been with the Rams since the age of eight, progressing right through the Academy ranks, and has been capped by England at youth level.

Thompson made 11 appearances for the Under-18s in the 2022/23 season prior to linking up with the group on a full-time basis ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

He was named as the Academy Player of the Season for the 2022/23 season at the club's End of Season Awards night in May 2023.

Despite still being only 17, Thompson was able to cement himself as number one for the Under-21s throughout 2023/24.

In December 2023, the shot-stopper also put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract with the club which sees him through to the summer of 2026.

Thompson received his first England Under-18s call up in early 2024 to round off a brilliant individual season which also saw him train with the first team.
