Central midfielder Emily Joyce is now in her seventh successive season with Derby County Women and was named as the Ewes' Team Captain in August 2024.
Joyce was previously in the Derby County Women Centre of Excellence and, following a spell with Birmingham City Women, she returned home in 2018.
The midfielder was named the Fans’ Player of the Season for the 2018/19 campaign and, after suffering an ACL knee injury soon afterwards, she has bounced back to remain a key player in the team.
She was Player of the Season in the 2022/23 season as the Ewes finished fourth in the FA Women’s National League – Northern Premier Division, while she also collected the same award for the 2023/24 campaign.
Going into the new campaign Joyce had 115 matches and 16 goals to her name - including the opening goal in the team’s 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in October 2021 and the final goal in their FA Women’s National League Plate Final win over Cambridge United in April 2024.
