Biography

Dajaune Brown joined Derby County’s Under-18s squad as a first-year scholar in the summer of 2022.

The striker had previously played for the Under-18s whilst still a schoolboy during the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, including two goals in six league appearances in the latter.

His two goals came in 1-0 wins for the Rams, against Everton on home turf in January 2022 and then on the road at Nottingham Forest the following month.

Brown’s development stepped up massively in 2022/23 and he impressed enough during his nine appearances with the Under-18s to make three appearances for the Under-21s in Premier League 2.

The teenager was included in the first-team squad for the Rams’ Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Premier League West Ham United and travelled to Spain with the first-team for the pre-season training camp in July 2023 ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Prior to the new campaign getting underway, Brown signed his first professional contract with the club in a deal which runs until the summer of 2026.

In 2023/24, Brown had a real breakthrough year. Still part of the Under-18s, the striker would feature far more heavily for the Under-21s in Premier League 2, finding the net six times in nine appearance, as well as being a regular on the scoresheet in both the Central League and Central League Cup with eight in just four appearances.

During the first-half of the campaign, Brown also featured five times for Paul Warne's first team as he made his first senior appearances.

In January 2024, the striker would move on loan to National League side Gateshead for the remainder of the season. He netted six times in the league for the Heed Army whilst also, most notably, scored in the FA Trophy Final before netting the winning penalty in the shoot-out as Gateshead saw off Solihull Moors at Wembley Stadium.

From 21 outings he recorded ten goals, as well as weighing in with a number of assists for Rob Elliot’s side. He was named as the Vanarama National League's March Player of the Month and was also crowned as the Rams' Scholar of the Year.
