Derby County Football Club, established in 1884, is one of the founder members of the English Football League and has a rich and varied history, including two First Division titles in 1972 and 1975 and an FA Cup success in 1946. The club are currently playing in the Sky Bet Championship, the second tier of English Football following their promotion from League One in the 2023/24 season, and is under the management of Head Coach Paul Warne. The club also boasts a successful and respected Category One Academy, a status which has been held since 2014, and a Women’s side competing in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division. Derby County recently embarked on an exciting new era following the change in ownership to Clowes Developments (UK) Limited, in the summer of 2022. Derby County Football Club are recruiting Matchday Safety Stewards to join our Matchday operations team!
The role of Matchday Safety Steward is pivotal in ensuring the overall matchday experience is one to remember, providing excellent levels of customer service whilst ensuring the safety of all who attend our stadium.
Successful candidates will support the matchday safety operation by providing assistance, direction, and safety advice to spectators visiting Pride Park Stadium in a polite, courteous, and helpful manner. Building rapport with fans throughout the season is essential. Matchday Safety Stewards must always be alert, helpful, and approachable.

Due to the nature of this role, applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age.
There is a requirement for all Matchday Safety Stewards to attend 70% of all home league fixtures. Please note, this primarily includes weekend and evening work.
The club will provide you with Level 2 Spectator Safety Training for all Matchday Safety Stewards. This is a mandatory qualification you will be required to hold in this role.
The rate of pay is £11.44 per hour rising to £11.79 per hour on successful completion of Level 2 Spectator Safety.
Within your first few games as a Matchday Safety Steward, you will be supervised by another Steward on your stand to provide the opportunity to learn from your colleagues and put all Spectator Safety learning into action!
For those candidates who already hold Level 2 in Spectator Safety, the rate of pay is £11.79 per hour, subject to proof of completion.
