Kane Wilson admitted that Derby County have to harbour momentum from their 2-2 draw with Portsmouth ahead of next Friday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Luton Town at Pride Park Stadium.

The Rams will return to Pride Park Stadium to face the Hatters after claiming a point on the south coast in a frantic affair against Pompey.

Jerry Yates’ second half header and an own goal from Rob Atkinson saw the Rams take the lead twice in the second half, but an end-to-end game saw Pompey equalise twice with the points shared at Fratton Park.

Wilson spoke to RamsTV after the clash against Portsmouth to reflect on the result and look ahead to Friday's game.

On taking a point against Pompey at Fratton Park…

It's a good point, but it feels like two points dropped if I'm being honest. We were in a winning position, and then to concede after that, it hurts. It's one of those things, we've got to pick ourselves up and go again. It's a point gained and not three points lost.

On the timing of the goals conceded…

That's probably the most disappointing thing and what's probably upset us most. The gaffer expressed to us then how he felt we played well and gave a really good, valiant effort, but they were two rubbish goals to give away, if I'm being honest. The set-piece and then a long ball into our box that just gets flicked; it's never how you want to concede.

It's disappointing, but we've got to pick ourselves up for a massive game against Luton now. I felt like we had so many good chances that we could have scored from today.

I can't think of too many where I felt like Pompey should have scored, other than the penalty they missed, which was a great save from Jacob. On the face of it now, it feels like three points dropped today - but it might be crucial come the end of the season.

On still holding belief going into the final four games…

I feel like we've got real momentum. We haven't lost today and we are two unbeaten. It would be amazing if we could back it up now, going into Luton. Obviously, we have to keep pushing to stay in this division.

On another vital game at Pride Park Stadium against Luton Town on Friday…

It’s a massive game. Pride Park is always to our advantage, and we've seen that so many times this year, especially since the gaffer has come in. He's tried to make that a fortress, and we have to use it to our advantage.
