Derby County’s Under-18s tasted defeat in their penultimate fixture of the 2024/25 Premier League - North season with a 4-3 reverse at league leaders Manchester City.
Derby led 2-1 at the break but the hosts stormed back in the second period to claim all three points and the Premier League - North title in the process.
Danny Maye’s side started well and took the lead just before the half-hour mark through midfielder Owen Eames.
Netherlands youth international midfielder Demiane Agustien doubled the Rams’ lead soon afterwards, but Finley Gorman got a goal back before half-time to bring City back into the contest.
Ryan McAidoo made it 2-2 ahead of the hour mark and Matthew Warhurst put the home side in front for the first time with just over ten minutes left.
Derby hit back to make the scoreline 3-3 through Tristan Gill with three minutes of normal time remaining, only for Warhurst to win it for the home side in added time.
The Under-18s, who sit fourth in the Premier League - North standings after an impressive campaign, will conclude their 2024/25 season with a home clash against Nottingham Forest at Moor Farm Training Ground on Saturday 3rd May (11am kick-off).
