John Eustace is set for his second home game in charge of Derby County when the Rams face up against the Head Coach’s former club Blackburn Rovers at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Eustace has overseen three Sky Bet Championship matches on the sidelines for Derby since joining in February. After a third full week of training at Moor Farm, with no midweek action, the Rams can relish back-to-back home games as a chance to turn around the momentum of their season with the visit of Coventry City on the horizon on Tuesday.
Opponents Blackburn have recently brought in new Head Coach Valerian Ismaël after Eustace swapped Lancashire for Derbyshire. Rovers sit eighth in the league table with Ismaël seeing a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City in his first game in charge last weekend.
Team News
Right-sider Kane Wilson has been sidelined since late January with a hamstring injury sustained against Sunderland, but he has returned to training over the past two weeks.
Defender Nat Phillips returned to the Rams squad on the bench against Middlesbrough last weekend after a knock saw him sidelined for the recent matches against Queens Park Rangers and Millwall - and he will be hoping to be back in contention at Pride Park tomorrow. Fellow defender Matt Clarke has returned to training with a minor hamstring issue, while winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has a knee issue.
Right-sider Joe Ward remains out with a knee problem, while winger Corey Blackett-Taylor and striker Dajaune Brown are sidelined as they carry on their rehabilitation from hamstring issues.
Centre-back Curtis Nelson and midfielder David Ozoh are both out of action and continuing their recoveries from knee injuries that are expected to see them out for the rest of the campaign.
