Derby County’s Under-18s fell to a 3-0 home defeat against Newcastle United in Under-18 Premier League - North on Saturday at Moor Farm Training Ground.

The Under-18s went into the clash off the back of a fine 4-1 victory at Liverpool last weekend but a much-changed side tasted a rare defeat this term against the Magpies.

Fraser Harper had Newcastle ahead after 15 minutes and Joe Brayson doubled the lead six minutes later to put the visitors firmly in the driving seat.

Michael Mills went on to add Newcastle’s third goal just before the half-time break to leave Derby with a mountain to climb.

No further goals followed in the second half, with Under-18 Lead Coach Danny Maye ringing the changes at half-time, and Newcastle claimed all three points.

Next up for the Under-18s is an FA Youth Cup Fifth Round visit to Southampton on Tuesday evening (7pm kick-off), while their next league outing will see them head to Stoke City on Saturday 8th February (11am kick-off).
