Defender Craig Forsyth admitted that Derby County needed to be more ruthless in front of goal after they exited the Emirates FA Cup on penalties against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

Neither team could find the winning goal in 90 minutes after young striker Dajaune Brown netted his second senior goal for Derby to equalise the game in the 24th minute.

The tie went the distance beyond extra time, after finishiing in a 1-1 draw, and was determined through a penalty shootout, with Orient coming out on top 6-5.

Forsyth spoke to RamsTV after the side’s shoot-out defeat against the in-form Sky Bet League One side.

On exiting the FA Cup following a penalty shootout…

It is a very disappointing night and the outcome of the tie is not what we wanted, but we've only got ourselves to blame. We had enough chances within the 90 minutes and then the extra time to put it away and we've not done that, and it's come back to bite us.

On having opportunities to come out on top…

The game became a bit end-to-end at times in a typical cup tie. It's frustrating that we didn't test the goal enough or as much as we would have wanted and that's what's cost us.

On moving forward with a Championship clah with Watford on Saturday…

It's important to move on quickly from this result. We need to recover and get ready for the league campaign to start up again on Saturday, which is another important one. Obviously, it would have been nice to have a cup run, but it's not to be and we've got to move on and concentrate on the league.
