Derby County will hit the road and head to South Wales for their Sky Bet Championship clash with Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

The Rams came out on top in the reverse fixture at Pride Park Stadium as Kenzo Goudmijn’s goal was enough to secure victory back in September.

Derby come into the game looking to pick up points and perform a turnaround in fortunes after sustaining a narrow 1-0 defeat over Sunderland on Tuesday night, leaving them without a win in five league outings.

Cardiff will enter the fixture buoyed by an emphatic 3-0 home win over Swansea City in the South Wales Derby last Saturday and a 2-2 draw with Millwall on Tuesday night. However, they are also in need of points, sitting 20th in the division, one place and point ahead of the Rams.

Team News

David Ozoh may be in contention for selection against the Bluebirds after returning to first team training recently following rehabilitation from a quad injury. He has been out of action since he suffered a hamstring issue against Cardiff in the home fixture in September.

Defender Ryan Nyambe may also be available after a prolonged period of recovery following a knee injury sustained in October.

Right-sider Kane Wilson and striker Dajaune Brown areboth sidelinedafter sustaining hamstring injuries against Sunderland on Tuesday night and are both being assessed before starting their recoveries, while defender Nat Phillips remains out with a calf problem.

Centre-back Curtis Nelson will be absent for the remainder of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury against Watford last Saturday.
