Derby County Under-21s defender Ryan Bartley has returned from his loan spell with National League North side Hereford.

The 20-year-old joined Hereford for an initial 28-day loan in October.

The loan period was extended to give the versatile defender more senior football experience with the National League North side after impressing during his first month as he was named as their October Player of the Month.

Bartley made 14 appearances, scoring one goal and recording one assist, during his time with the Bulls.

He has previously had experience in non-league football when he joined National League South side Eastbourne Borough on loan in the 2022/23 season when he was affiliated with Premier League side Crystal Palace.

He joined the Rams in the summer of 2023 after leaving Palace and featured 12 times for Jake Buxton’s Under-21s during the 2023/24 Premier League 2 season and was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award in December 2023.

He also had a loan spell with National League North side Spennymoor Town earlier this season.
