Derby County will play their final home game before Christmas when they welcome Portsmouth to Pride Park Stadium for a Friday night Sky Bet Championship clash under the lights (8pm kick-off).


The Rams picked up a hard-fought point and kept a clean sheet against third-placed Burnley on Tuesday night with a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor.

Opponents Portsmouth also played out a goalless draw, at home to Norwich City, on Tuesday. John Mousinho’s side will also be buoyed by a 3-0 win over Bristol City last Saturday - their third win of the season in the league.

Team News

Head Coach Paul Warne is expected to have the pick of the majority of his squad for the clash with Portsmouth.


Midfielder Ebou Adams and defender Callum Elder both returned to action against Burnley following one-match suspensions and are both expected to be available for selection once again.


Defender Ryan Nyambe (knee) and midfielder David Ozoh (quad)both remain sidelined as they continue their recovery work.

Referee Oliver Langford will officiate the game - his 12th Championship game this season, including the Rams’ league clash with Norwich City at Pride Park in September. Langford has handed out 40 yellow cards and no red cards in that time.

He will be joined by assistant referees Mark Stevens and Alex James, while Dean Whitestone will be the fourth official.
