Derby County Under-21s midfielder Harry Hawkins has joined Southern League Central side AFC Telford United on a short-term loan deal.
The 18-year-old has signed up with the Bucks for an initial 28-day loan period and can look forward to fixtures against Banbury United, Stourbridge, Halesowen Town and Hitching Town over the course of his loan spell.
Hawkins was one of several players to join Derby’s Under-21s squad on a full-time basis in the summer of 2024 after two years with the Under-18s. The loan spell with Telford will be Hawkins’ first in-depth experience of competitive senior men’s football - with appearances in Derby’s matchday squad in the EFL Trophy on his CV.
Hawkins has made nine appearances in Premier League 2 for Jake Buxton’s Under-21s side so far this season, including donning the captain’s armband against Liverpool and Manchester City in the league, as well as getting match minutes in the Premier League Cup, Central League and National League Cup.
