The charitable arm of the football club, Derby County Community Trust, is pleased to be back on board as a partner of Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance in the run up to Christmas.
For the past three years, the Reverse Advent Calendar campaign has seen Derby County fans make countless donations to the city's food banks at one of the toughest times of the year for many.
For the third Christmas running, supporters are encouraged to take part in Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance's Reverse Advent Calendar campaign, where they ‘collect’ an item of tinned or dried food per day for 25 days. The result is a full food parcel, which will be distributed across local communities in the run up to Christmas.
Collections will take place at Pride Park Stadium on Wednesday 4th December (12pm-3pm) and Thursday 5th December (4pm-6pm). The donation hub will be situated in Harrison's Hub at Pride Park Stadium, located in the stadium's North-West Corner.
Supporters are encouraged to begin the 'advent calendar' from Thursday 7th November, to collect 25 items by Sunday 1st December. A full list of items to collect can be found here.
Full food parcels that are brought to the donation points at Pride Park Stadium will qualify for two complimentary tickets to Derby County's Sky Bet Championship fixture at home to Portsmouth on Friday 13th December (8pm kick-off).
Please Note:These are limited and will be distributed on a first come first served basis and up to a maximum of 10 tickets per organisation/drop off to ensure fair distribution.
Last Christmas, because of the generosity of local people and organisations, Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance was able to distribute over 2,000 food parcels to households across Derby, making a huge difference to those who are facing food insecurity.
Paul Newman, Head of Community at the Derby County Community Trust said: “We are delighted to be supporting Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance and the Reverse Advent Calendar again this year after the resounding success of the last three years.
“The food that we collect makes such a difference to families and this year we are aiming to collect more donations than ever before.”
A full list of items to collect as part of the Reverse Advent Calendar can be found on the Derby County Community Trust’s dedicated webpage.
