We look at what events are coming up during the month of October for the Men’s first team, as well as the Under-21s and Under-18s at Academy level, the Women’s first-team, club events, community campaigns and birthdays across Derby County.


Following an eventful September, with the Rams' impressive perfect record at Pride Park Stadium - that ran from March 2024 - finally ending, Paul Warne’s team are gearing up for an action-packed month in the battle for points in the Sky Bet Championship.

Meanwhile, Derby County Women look ahead to hosting the first East Midlands Derby of the season at the Don Amott Arena, as back-to-back fixtures against table-topping sides Burnley and Nottingham Forest offers up a tasty fixture schedule.

The Rams' Under-21s are hoping to carry on the momentum created after a fine 4-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in Premier League 2 at the end of September.

Danny Maye’s Under-18s will be looking to continue their explosive start to the season too, afer they have scored 31 goals in their first seven fixtures.

October will play host to 14 matches with the 2024/25 fixture calendar now in full swing.



Tuesday 1st October - Men’s First Team Sunderland (A) 7:45pm

The Rams kicked off the month with a midweek trip to the Stadium of Light for a clash against high-flying Sunderland and fell to a 2-0 loss. Jobe Bellingham’s long-range effort before the half time whistle, and a close-range finish from Wilson Isidor in the second period saw the hosts take a 2-0 lead that they refused to yield. Derby had their moments, including a quickfire double-chance for Eiran Cashin and Craig Forsyth late on, but they couldn’t get back into the match.

Saturday 5th October - Men’s First Team Vs Queens Park Rangers (H) 3pm

Paul Warne’s side will be hoping to keep momentum on their side at Pride Park Stadium against Queens Park Ranger in the Sky Bet Championship ahead of the October international break. Norwich City provided the team’s first defeat on home turf in ten competitive matches, after three winning performances against Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Cardiff City kicked of the season in the league without the Rams conceding on home turf.


Saturday 5th October - Under-18s Vs Norwich City (A) 1pm

Danny Maye’s side will visit the Canaries' at Avant Training Centre in their second fixture in the Under-18 Premier League Cup. They’ll be looking to carry on their winning form in the competition after coming out on top in a eleven-goal thriller with Brighton & Hove Albion in August by winning 6-5.

Sunday 6th October - Women’s First Team Vs Burnley (A) 2pm

Sam Griffiths’ Ewes kick off the month with their first of two fixtures against table-topping teams when they head to Lancashire to face Burnley. Derby’s last meeting with the Clarets was a successful one, as they triumphed with a 2-0 win in the final game of last season.

Monday 7th October - Under-21s Vs Sunderland (A) 7pm

Jake Buxton’s Under-21 side head to the North East for their Premier League 2 tie against Sunderland.


Friday 11th October - Chirewa celebrates birthday!

On-loan Wolves attacker Tawanda Chirewa will celebrate his 21st birthday whilst in training with the Zimbabwe national team on international duty, ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier double-header against Namibia.


Sunday 13th October - Women’s First Team Vs Nottingham Forest (H) 2pm

The Ewes will face Nottingham Forest in the first East Midlands Derby fixture of the season as the sides will clash at the Don Amott Arena. Derby hold the bragging rights over their close neighbours after taking four points from the Reds last season. A dramatic smash-and-grab 2-1 victory at the City Ground saw the Ewes take all three points on the road, while a tense battling 1-1 draw on home turf followed later in the season.


Tuesday 15th October - Under-21s Vs Aldershot Town (A) 7pm

The Under-21s head to the EBB Stadium to compete in the recently launched National League Cup competition against Aldershot Town’s senior side..


Wednesday 16th October - Brown celebrates birthday!

The Rams’ young striker Dajaune Brown will celebrate his 19th birthday. Brown signed a new deal with Derby until 2027 at the end of September after impressing in a loan spell with National League side Gateshead last season and in pre-season training with the first team over the summer.


Saturday 19th October - Men’s First Team Vs Millwall (A) 3pm

Derby will head to The Den for their fifth away day of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship season following the October international break. It will be the Rams' first visit to Millwall since a 1-1 draw in the 2021/22 campaign.

Saturday 19th October - Under-18s Vs Leeds United (A) 12pm

The Under-18s will be looking to continue their impressive start to the Premier League season when they head to Thorp Arch for their clash with Leeds United. Danny Maye’s side have netted 25 goals in their first six league fixtures this term.


Monday 21st October - Under-21s Vs Brentford (A) 7pm

The Under-21s' Premier League Cup campaign continues when they face Brentford on the road. They will be looking for their first win in the competition, after falling to a narrow 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth in the opening Premier League Cup fixture last month.

Tuesday 22nd October - Men’s First Team Vs Oxford United (A) 7:45pm

Paul Warne’s side will travel to Oxford United for a Sky Bet Championship clash under the lights at the Kassam Stadium. Derby have won 3-2 in each of their last two visits to Oxford, including a stunning comeback victory last Christmas.

Friday 25th October - Under-21s Vs Brighton & Hove Albion (A) 7:30pm

The Under-21s Premier League 2 fixture schedule will take them to the south coast to play Brighton & Hove Albion.


Saturday 26th October - Men’s First Team Vs Hull City (H) 3pm

Derby will return to Pride Park Stadium for their final game of the month, with Hull City the opponents. The Rams were 3-1 winners over the Tiigers on their last visit in the 2021/22 campaign.

Sunday 27th October - Women’s First Team Vs Hull City (A) 2pm

It’s a club double-header weekend against the Tigers, as the Ewes travel North to the Easy Buy Stadium for their final FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division fixture of October.
