David Ozoh says Derby County are aiming to turn Pride Park Stadium into a fortress as they prepare to return to Sky Bet Championship action at the weekend.

The Rams face Cardiff City on Saturday (3pm kick-off) striving to make it three victories out of three at home to start the league campaign, following wins over Middlesbrough and Bristol City last month.

Ozoh scored his first career goal in the latter victory and when he spoke to RamsTV on Thursday, he was excited to be back in front of the Pride Park faithful.

On the Pride Park atmosphere…

It’s so good, it’s crazy, it’s loud. We’re trying to make it a fortress, we’ve done a good job with two wins out of two in the league and I feel that we can win as many games as we can at Pride Park.

On the first goal of his professional career…

I don’t know how I did that! Everyone was asking me how I had that much energy in the 90th minute.

On Paul Warne’s influence…

One thing I wanted to do when coming out on loan was play games and Paul Warne gave me reassurance when I came in, so I’m happy.

It was tough at the start but the boys have helped me grow into it and I want to thank the gaffer for giving me the confidence to play week-in, week-out.

He’s asked me to come in and express myself, he said don’t be scared to make mistakes and that has really helped me.

On building relationships with his team-mates…

From the first day, both Ebou Adams and Kenzo Goudmijn made me feel welcome straight away and I’m grateful to both of them. They are just fantastic people and great players on the pitch.

It’s easy when I get to play with Kenzo and Ebou. Joining a new club is tough but Derby have made it so good for me and it feels like I’ve been here for five years. I’m just grateful for every player.
