Post-Match Reaction

“It was a different game today,” Under-18 Lead Coach Danny Maye said afterwards. “There wasn’t much space to play through, so we needed to solve a different problem. It was really pleasing to see the lads do this and find a way to win.

“With the ball there was a lot of space behind, and we managed to exploit this. We pushed them back through good movement behind and gained a bit more time on the ball. As the game went on, we had more of the ball and started to get a little more control.

“Without the ball, it was a day for defending. Wolves gave us little to press and offered a lot of movement on the top line. We mostly defended well today and deserved the win.

“After going a goal up, we started to build into the game. We had a few chances second half to finish the game off but didn’t take them. They deserved their equaliser, but we responded quickly to go back in front. It was then great to watch us see out the game and manage the momentum.”
