Derby County will return to action in the Sky Bet Championship following the two-week international break when they host Cardiff City at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Derby will head into the clash with a positive mindset after emphatically defeating Bristol City 3-0 on home turf in their last outing at the end of August.
Cardiff will make the journey to Derbyshire aiming to get their first league win of the season on the board, after being handed a tough run of fixtures against sides occupying a top seven spot in the form of Sunderland, Burnley and Middlesbrough and a local derby at Swansea City to start the campaign.

Pre-Match Thoughts
Head Coach Paul Warne sat down with RamsTV to preview his side’s return to action on home turf following the first international break of the campaign.
Midfielder David Ozoh, who scored his first career goal in the Rams’ 3-0 home win over Bristol City just under two weeks ago, also joined RamsTV to look ahead to the meeting with the Bluebirds.
Match Officials
Matthew Donohue will take charge of Saturday’s fixture at Pride Park Stadium.
The official has overseen three games so far this term, showing 12 yellow cards and no reds.
He was the man in the middle for Derby’s 0-0 draw at Wycombe Wanderers towards the end of the 2023/24 season, while his last match at Pride Park was a 2-1 home win over Middlesbrough in the 2020/21 campaign.
Donohue will be assisted by Paul Hodskinson and Richard Woodward, while Martin Wood will act as the fourth official.
Minute's Applause
A minute’s applause will take place prior to kick-off at Pride Park Stadium in memory of Sol Bamba, the former Leeds United, Leicester City, Cardiff City and Hibernian defender, who died at the age of 39 at the end of August.
The Ivory Coast centre-back, who began his career with Paris St-Germain and also played for Dunfermline and Middlesbrough, was part of the Cardiff side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2018.
Bamba, who had a spell training with Derby in 2016 under the management of Nigel Pearson, overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2021 during his playing days at Cardiff and later went on to serve as a coach with the Bluebirds.
Players from both sides will also wear black armbands in Bamba’s memory.
