Daisy Burt has become Derby County Women’s seventh summer addition after joining Sam Griffiths’ side on a season-long loan from Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old full-back joins after a season on loan with fourth-tier Middlesbrough last term as they secured a second-placed finish, missing out on promotion to Derby’s league by seven points.
The Ewes will get their 2024/25 FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division campaign underway on Sunday 18th August with an away trip to newly promoted Sporting Khalsa (2pm kick-off).
Burt is Griffiths’ seventh signature of the summer joining goalkeeper Lucy Jones, midfielders Bethan McGowan, Paris Dalton and Lara Miller and attackers Kate Oakley and Chene Muir.
The young defender began her senior career with Sunderland in 2021/22 before moving from Wearside to Tyneside, when she joined Newcastle United a season later and cemented a place in the Magpies' first team as they were promoted to the third tier.
Burt also has youth international experience, representing England as a member of the multiple Young Lionesses squads from Under-14 to Under-18 level.
