Derby County centre-back Eiran Cashin has been named in the Professional Footballers’ Association’s League One Team of The Year for the 2023/24 season.

Cashin featured 44 times, scoring three goals, as the Rams clinched automatic promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship with a second-place finish in the third tier.

The defender's fine performances played a vital part in the promotion push as Paul Warne’s side boasted the best defence in the EFL, conceding the fewest goals in League One and holding an impressive number of 22 clean sheets.

The 22-year-old has been recognised for his displays in a vote cast by his fellow professionals as he was presented as a member of the League One Team of The Year at the 2024 PFA Awards in Manchester on Tuesday night.

Cashin, who signed a new long-term contract with the Rams earlier this year, played in all but two league fixtures last season, due to suspension and injury respectively, and helped the side to 21 of their 22 clean sheets.

Cashin was also named as Derby’s Sammy Crooks Young Player of the Season and was named in the EFL’s League One Team of the Season last term , while he was also named as the Supporters’ Club Player of the Season.

The Academy graduate was joined at the 2024 PFA Awards by team-mate Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who was shortlisted for the League One Player of the Season award.
