Derby County will play their second home fixture of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship season when they take on Bristol City at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

The Rams have won two games from two on home soil since the beginning of the new campaign, with a 2-1 Carabao Cup Round One success over Chesterfield and a hardy 1-0 success over Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Liam Manning’s Bristol City side come into the game sitting seventh in the Championship, with two draws, most recently playing out a 1-1 against Coventry City at Ashton Gate last Saturday, and a 4-3 win against Millwall a fortnight ago.

Team News

Head Coach Paul Warne will have the pick of most of his squad for the clash with the Robins.

Forward Jerry Yates is available to play what could be his first home appearance in a competitive fixture after completing the final game of a three-match suspension he picked up on the final day of last season when playing for parent club Swansea City. The same applies to recent loan signing Tawanda Chirewa, who arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, and goalkeeper Jacob Widdel Zetterstrom.

Eiran Cashin is back in contention after a fortnight on the sidelines following a concussion injury sustained in the Rams' win against Middlesbrough.

Winger Corey Blackett-Taylor is back in training and could feature in the squad, while Ben Osborn (calf) is a doubt after missing last weekend's 2-1 loss against Watford at Vicarage Road and the Carabao Cup trip to Barrow in midweek.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) and right-sider Kane Wilson (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV ahead of the clash about the importance of gaining momentum on home soil.

Match Officials

Tom Nield will be the man in the middle for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship encounter. The 33-year-old referee will officiate the Rams for only the second time in his career, after previously overseeing an EFL Trophy group game against Manchester City Under-21s in October 2022.

The Assistant Referees will be Richard Wild and Hugh Gilroy, while Benjamin Speedie will take up the role of Fourth Official.

Sven-Goran Eriksson

A minute's applause will be held ahead of kick-off at Pride Park Stadium, in memory of former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson, who sadly passed away this week at the age of 76. He managed England at Pride Park Stadium in May 2001, for a 4-0 friendly win over Mexico.
