Midfielder Liam Thompson visited Derby County Community Trust’s Kellogg’s Holiday Coaching course at the Derby Racecourse Hub on Tuesday afternoon.

The Kellogg’s Holiday Camps at the Racecourse Hub run throughout the school holidays and provide football activities for primary-aged children. The courses are interactive and work on skills and drills for all abilities in a safe and enjoyable environment.

The Rams’ first team player got stuck into a range of activities that the youngsters were taking part in, including a crossbar challenge and mini matches.

He also signed memento postcards for the excited participants to take away.

Thompson said: “It’s always nice to see the young ones enjoying their time off school and it’s nice to be a part of it. It’s been really enjoyable”

Sam Howard, Community Coaching Lead at the Community Trust, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Liam to our holiday camp. The players are an inspiration to our participants, and it’s been great to see him here, joining in with the activities.”

After taking part in the challenges and games, Thompson presented the tournament winners with their trophy and certificates before posing for some photos.

Derby County Community Trust run holiday coaching sessions at the Racecourse Hub, Rykneld Sports Centre and Belper Leisure Centre across each school holiday. The sessions provide opportunities to keep children active and healthy whilst they’re off school.
