Derby County’s Under-21s will compete in the 2024/25 Central League.

The Under-21s have once again opted to bolster their fixture list and take part in the league after playing in the 2023/24 edition of the Central League and Central League Cup.

Jake Buxton’s team primarily play in the Premier League 2 competition, against the likes of English top-flight big hitters Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. The Premier League 2 fixtures were released last week – with Aston Villa poised to be their first opponents on the road.

Home games in the Premier League 2 competition will be played at Matlock Town’s Proctor Cars Stadium, meanwhile the Central League home fixtures will be hosted at Derby’s Moor Farm Training Centre.

Playing in the Central League will add an additional nine games to the young Rams' fixtures programme for the new season. This will give further opportunities for the players to gain greater experience in competitive fixtures, compared to friendly matches.

The Central League campaign will begin with an away trip to Preston North End on Tuesday 20th August (kick-off 2pm).
