Bethan McGowan has become Derby County Women’s fifth signing of the summer and linked up with Sam Griffiths’ team ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The midfielder has previous experience at FA Women’s National League – Premier Division North level, after playing for league rivals West Bromwich Albion last term.

She began her career with Arsenal’s Academy and has spent time on the books of then-Women’s Super League side Birmingham City.

McGowan has plied her trade at international level too, having received call-ups to the Wales Under-19s squad.

She is the Ewes’ fifth signing after a quartet of new additions was announced last week, with Lucy Jones, Paris Dalton, Lara Miller and Kate Oakley also ready to don the black and white of Derby this term.
