Derby County Women have been handed a home tie in the FA Women’s National League Cup determining round.
Wednesday 28th August 2024 (7:45pm kick-off).
Lightning play in the fourth tier, a division below Derby, in the FA Women’s National League - Division One Midlands, where they narrowly missed out on promotion through goal difference last season.
The determining round will see both sides fighting for a place in the First Round of the FA Women's National League Cup, with the losing team entering the draw for the League Plate.
After winning the National League Plate last season, the Ewes will be looking to make their mark in a cup competition once again this term.
Derby met Loughborough in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Round last season. The Ewes won 4-1 and progressed into the Fourth Round where they were knocked out by Women’s Super League side, and eventual semi-finalists Leicester City.
