PRE-SEASON PREVIEW: Stockport County (In Spain)

Derby County will continue their pre-season preparations in Spain with a friendly against Stockport County in Spain on Friday morning (11am kick-off local time).

Derby have spent this week at a training camp in Alicante ramping up their workload in the lead-up to the upcoming 2024/25 Sky Bet League One season, taking in several double sessions in the blistering heat.

Team News

Head Coach Paul Warne is hopeful of having the majority of his squad available for selection against the Hatters.

Ebou Adams could be set to make his first appearance back in Derby colours after the midfielder, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the Rams, signed on a permanent basis earlier in the week from Cardiff City.

The Rams’ first summer signing Ben Osborn is in line for an outing. He sustained a hamstring injury when plying his trade for Sheffield United back in May, but the versatile player has returned to training in Spain.

Wing-back Joe Ward is back in individual training but is still completing his rehabilitation after sustaining a knee injury in the closing stages of last season.

Similarly, striker Conor Washington has been increasing his workload on the training field but is unlikely to feature as he continues his recovery.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Assistant Head Coach Richie Barker spoke to RamsTV following training on Wednesday to discuss what the coaching staff are hoping to gain from the pre-season friendlies.
