Ryan Nyambe has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with Derby County.

The defender has extended his deal, which was due to expire in the summer of 2025, to run until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 26-year-old joined Derby as a free agent last September, having previously been with Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic, and quickly established himself as a key member of Paul Warne’s promotion-winning side.

Nyambe played 21 times in all competitions for the Rams in the 2023/24 season as they achieved automatic promotion from Sky Bet League One back to the Championship.

He missed the closing stages of the campaign due to a quad injury, which required surgery, but the full-back resumed pre-season training with the squad earlier this week.

The Namibia international, who featured for his country at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, prominently featured at right-back in a Derby shirt but is also capable of playing across various defensive positions.

Nyambe registered 250 appearances in his professional career in English football during the 2023/24 campaign and has a vast of experience in the second tier as the Rams prepare to return to the Championship for the 2024/25 season.
