Derby County Women will continue their hectic March games programme when they welcome Halifax FC to the Don Amott Arena on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick-off).

dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you will need to know ahead of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division fixture.

Manager's Thoughts...

Manager Sam Griffiths wants her side to take the positive energy from their recent impressive displays against the league’s big hitters when they return to action on Sunday.

Despite going down 2-1 at Newcastle United last month and losing 2-0 at home to Burnley last weekend, Derby’s performances have been encouraging and could conceivably have picked up points from both fixtures.

Ahead of a meeting with a fellow mid-table side, Griffiths has stressed the importance of the side getting back to winning ways.

She said: “We want to win all our games, regardless of who we are up against.

“We believe we can compete against anyone in this league.

“Halifax are just three points and a couple of places below us in the table, so this is a match we want to win to push ourselves further away from them.”

The Last Time We Met...

Derby and Halifax met earlier this season in league action at the Don Amott Arena but the FA Women’s National League (WNL) Board confirmed in late 2023 that the game should be replayed in full after the fixture was abandoned due to an injury to a Halifax player in the final minutes.

The match itself, which took place in early November, was tied at 1-1 at the time of the abandonment.

Derby took the lead just after half-time courtesy of a stunning strike from midfielder Rebecca May, but Olivia Wilson hit a late equaliser for the visitors.
