Derby County striker James Collins has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award for January.
The Rams' number nine scored five goals in six games across the opening month of 2024 and gets a deserved nomination for the honour.
A brace on New Year's Day in the 3-2 home defeat against Peterborough United was built on with goals in the 3-1 success at Fleetwood Town and the late 3-2 home win over Burton Albion in the next two league fixtures.
Collins rounded January off with the winner in the 2-1 victory against Cheltenham Town at Pride Park Stadium. His sublime volley from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's cross earned the Rams all three points and it was a goal more than fitting to do so.
Collins faces competition for the award from Leyton Orient striker Dan Agyei, Josh Sheehan of Bolton Wanderers and Bristol Rovers' ex-Derby frontman Chris Martin.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies. All winners will be announced on Friday 9th February.
