Derby County striker James Collins was recently named the PFA League One Fans' Player of the Month for January 2024.
Collins claimed the award after an excellent opening month of 2024 which saw him bag five goals in six games in league action.
A brace on New Year's Day in the 3-2 home defeat against Peterborough United was followed by goals in the 3-1 success at Fleetwood Town and the late 3-2 home win over Burton Albion in the next two league fixtures.
Collins rounded January off with the winner in the 2-1 victory against Cheltenham Town at Pride Park Stadium. His sublime volley from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's cross earned the Rams all three points and it was a goal more than fitting to do so.
Derby's number nine saw off strong competition from Portsmouth's
Colby Bishop, Dan Agyei of Leyton Orient, Barnsley forward Devante Cole,
Karamoko Dembele of Blackpool and Oxford United forward Mark Harris for
the honour.
The striker was presented with the PFA League One Fans' Player of the Month award by the PFA's Delegate Liaison Executive and former professional footballer Ritchie Humphreys at Moor Farm Training Ground on Thursday morning.
