Derby County Under-21s fell to a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Fulham Under-21s in Premier League 2 on Friday evening.
The Rams looked to be heading to a victory through Dajaune Brown's second half header, but two stoppage time strikes from the home side turned the game on its head and saw Fulham claim all three points at Motspur Park.
The home side were on top in the early stages and were denied an opening goal by the post. Imani Lanquedoc crossed towards Oliver O'Neill and the latter's header clipped the outside of the woodwork before dropping wide.
Kristian Sekularac curled an effort just wide after Aaron Loupalo-Bi had nicked the ball in a dangerous area as Fulham continued to have the better of the first half.
Derby were much improved after the break and nearly took the lead when Tony Weston burst through on goal only to be denied by a fine save from the Fulham goalkeeper.
Jake Buxton's men kept pushing and took the lead with just over 20 minutes remaining through Brown. A brilliant ball into the box by Weston was met by the striker who made no mistake from close range, heading beyond Alfie McNally
That goal from Brown looked to have been enough to win the contest until substitute Callum McFarlane struck in the third minute of stoppage time to tie the game.
Buoyed by their injury time equaliser, the hosts pressed and incredibly found themselves a winner.
With 97 minutes on the clock it was another substitute, Samuel Amissah, who found the back of the net with a fine strike from a tight angle to win it with what was virtually the last kick of the game.
