Derby County defender Ryan Nyambe has been called up by Namibia for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Nyambe, who has 13 caps for his country following his international debut in 2019, has now headed off on international duty and is set to be unavailable for selection until the end of January at the earliest.
The right-back has made 16 appearances for Derby since signing as a free agent in September and recently penned a new deal until the summer of 2025.
The Africa Cup of Nations group stages for Namibia end on 24th January, but the tournament itself runs until 11th February, which is the date set for the final.
Nyambe’s Namibia are in a group comprised of Mali, South Africa and Tunisia and the first of those games, against Tunisia, will take place on 16th January.
The top two teams of each group in the competition along with the four best third-placed teams will advance to the Round of 16 which gets underway on 27th January.
The Quarter-Finals are set for 2nd and 3rd February whilst the Semi-Finals will take place on 7th February ahead of the Final four days later.
