Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has put pen-to-paper on a new deal with Derby County.

The 31-year-old was set to be out of contract at the end of the 2023/24 season but has now signed fresh terms until the summer of 2026.

The versatile forward, who has recently established himself on the international stage with Guatemala, has been in impressive form for Paul Warne’s side in the current campaign.

Mendez-Laing has registered seven goals and ten assists from his 28 appearances in all competitions this term and been a regular in the side throughout.

He netted his latest goal in Derby’s 3-1 victory at Fleetwood Town on Saturday, slotting home with great composure after being played in on goal to open the scoring.

Mendez-Laing made 51 appearances, scored eight times and chipped in with 11 assists last term after joining the Rams as a free agent in July 2022.

The experienced attacker surpassed 400 appearances in club football earlier this season and becomes the second Derby player to extend their stay at Pride Park Stadium in recent weeks, after defender Ryan Nyambe committed his future to the club until the summer of 2025 over the Christmas period.
