Derby County's Kane Wilson says he's 'loving' his current role in the side following the 3-0 victory over Leyton Orient on Saturday.
The versatile Wilson has played in numerous positions in the side since his summer arrival from Bristol City but has recently been deployed further up the field in an attacking wide position, a role which he feels he's thriving in.
Speaking to RamsTV after the victory over Orien, which was secured thanks to goals from Louie Sibley, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Tom Barkhuizen, Wilson reflected on his current run in the side and gave his verdict on a fifth straight win for Paull Warne's side in Sky Bet League One.
On the victory...
It started quite tough, it was a typical League One game, but once we got the first goal and they had the sending off just before half-time, it really opened up for us.
On getting the first goal...
Sibs did really well, he took it brilliantly. It didn't take the pressure off because there was still a long way to go but it was nice because we got a foothold in the game and were able to dictate it a little bit more.
On showing more of what he's capable of...
When you start to get a little run in the team, you relax a bit and can start putting your best performances in, hopefully. It's a new role for me in terms of being a bit further forward but I'm loving it, I can't explain how much I'm loving it. I feel like it brings out my best attributes and I'm really enjoying it.
On playing against ten men...
It can be a little bit more difficult sometimes but as soon as their plaer got sent off, for me personally, it felt like it opened the game up and for us that was a real positive for us.
On Derby scoring straight after half-time...
We weren't too happy with the first half performance and we wanted to start the second half quickly. We knew they would come out with a game plan and we had to start quick and luckily we grabbed the goal through Nat. There were more chances where we probably could have scored more than three, but it was a good day.
On the confidence in the dressing room...
I feel like we're really starting to build confidence and rapport with the fans. The fans were there singing at the end and they always travel so well. They give us the confidence on the pitch when they get behind us.
On the good run of form heading into Christmas...
We started the season with a few problems but now we're really getting into a groove. We were so close at the start of the season to getting to where we are at this moment and now you're starting to see that, so long may it continue.
