Defender Craig Forsyth felt it was 'a good day all round' as Derby County dispatched Barnsley 3-0 at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Forsyth scored the second of the three goals on the day, with striker James Collins scoring the other two, and the long-serving full-back was happy to be able to contribute to three welcome points in Sky Bet League One to push the Rams closer to the top six.
Speaking to RamsTV after the game, Forsyth gave his verdict on the performance.
On the performance...
It was very good all round. It was important to put on a performance at home against a top six rival and it was a good and convincing win for us and a clean sheet too.
We've been building the home form. We didn't start well this year at Pride Park but we've put a good few results together and we're hoping to continue that. Today was a good performance.
On turning a corner...
Everybody, especially the new players, would probably say they are getting used to playing here now but it's just about building the form as a team and a unit and making sure everyone is pulling in the same direction.
On his goal...
I was able to sneak around the back and managed to finish it off. The second one I just hit it as hard as I could and Collo was there fortunately to put it in with his chest.
It was good to get on the scoresheet because the coaching staff are always on at us to chip in more, so I'm glad I helped today.
On the defensive performance....
I think we dealt with everything quite well. It was a good day all round. A clean sheet and three goals, you can't complain!
On Tuesday evening's meeting with Crewe in the FA Cup First Round Replay...
When you're on a good run like this, you just want to keep the games coming and keep the momentum going so hopefully we can do the same again on Tuesday night.
