Derby County Head Coach Paul Warne admitted he was left 'feeling relieved' after his side's 2-0 victory over Carlisle United on Saturday.

A goal in both halves from James Collins were enough to cement three Sky Bet League One points for Derby in a battling performance in Cumbria.

Speaking to RamsTV after the final whistle, Warne congratulated Collins on the achievement of hitting 200 goals in club football and spoke of his relief of the team making it back-to-back wins in all competitions.

On the performance overall...

I'm feeling relieved. I'd like us to play better. There was some good performances but I would also like some better performances too. Away from home, it's just about winning but we'll play significantly better and lose and play a lot worse and win. Overall, I'm pleased to win.

On what he liked about the performance...

I thought we saw the game out quite well and in the last 20 minutes we were quite resolute. The back-line were good and Joe Wildsmith looked really mature in goal. We looked dangerous on the counter-attack, although we should have made more of those. I enjoyed those parts of the game.

On gaining some momentum...

You can build a lot off wins. Hand on heart, it doesn't bother me how we play if we win. It's an easier interview to say we could be better but we've won 2-0. I do think we'll play better. I'm just disappointed with the times we gave the ball away needlessly. We'll watch the game back and it may look better than I feel right now, but I'm pleased with the win. It's been a tough week for us so I'm really pleased we can finish it with a win.

On James Collins hitting 200 goals...

I'm really pleased for him. He lives and dedicates his life to football. He wants to play every minute of every game. He took his first goal really well, won the penalty and took the penalty, so it doesn't get much better for a striker. You need a physical presence in away games in League One and he was that for us. His out of the possession stuff is really good and he's really great at helping us defend set-pieces too. I'm really pleased for him and it's something he'll look back on with great pride. 200 goals at any level is very impressive.

On Ryan Nyambe's debut...

He gets close to people and defends well. Kane Wilson was excellent in midweek against Lincoln but it was his first 90-minute game back after injury and we have to try and manage the players and keep them fit and healthy. I thought Ryan did really well and I've congratulated him in there. He looked assured and that's just what we needed.

On the away support...

In football you've got to enjoy the nice times so I really appreciate people coming up here. I appreciate how far it is and the lads love winning in front of the fans. We can finish this week really proud of our efforts.

On another week of training ahead of Cambridge next week...

We'll do some on the training ground and some in the classroom too as it's essential we eradicate some of our poorer play and give some of the lads confidence with their good play. It's always nice to have a full week after a win.
