Derby County bolstered their attacking options today with the loan signing of Tyreece John-Jules from Premier League side Arsenal.
The forward who has signed on an initial loan deal until January 2024 tasted success in Sky Bet League One last season with Ipswich Town as they gained automatic promotion and he is looking to replicate the same with the Rams this season.
Speaking to RamsTV after completing his loan move, John-Jules says he's buzzing to get going and meet the rest of the squad.
On getting the deal done...
I'm happy to be here, I'm excited to get started and see all the boys and get going. I've played with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing at Sheffield Wednesday briefly and Louie Sibley at England youth level so I'm familiar with a few of the lads already.
On his previous loan spells...
They have all been good. I was injured for quite a bit of my spell at Ipswich but you've just got to keep going. Sheffield Wednesday was definitely short but Ipswich was a good spell and hopefully I can stay fit this year and help Derby County progress.
On his style...
I'm a link-up striker. I like to get involved and play. I like to bring my team-mates into play and ultimately score as many goals and get as many assists as possible. All in all I like to bring people in around me and play together as a team.
On what Paul Warne has asked of him...
He told me the things he likes about me and the things he would like to help me get better at so I've spoken to him about that so I think it will be good to work together and good for the team.
On his fitness state...
Injuries have been a big point in my career so far so it's been tough, especially the last couple of years. Fingers crossed this season I can stay injury free and play as many games as possible. I'm fit now, I've played the whole pre-season at Arsenal so I'm fit and ready to go.
