Derby County’s Under-21s will take on Norwich City in their latest Premier League 2 - Division 2 fixture on Monday evening.

The Under-21s will host the Canaries at Loughborough University Stadium (7pm kick-off) and dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you will need to know ahead of the game.

Team News...

Defender Max Bardell will miss out after sustaining a hamstring injury last month while fellow defender Harrison Solomon (knee) has been out of action lately.

Strikers Bartosz Cybulski and George Nunn are out on loan at Solihull Moors and Mickleover FC so recent loan signings from Arsenal Kido Taylor-Hart and Billy Vigar could feature and make their Derby bows, while the versatile Courtney Clarke, who has played in midfield and defence this season, has moved on to pastures new after ending his contract early ahead of its expiry in the summer.

A new face in the Under-21s squad is striker Owen Oseni. The 19-year-old has joined Pat Lyons’ squad following a spell at League of Ireland First Division side Waterford FC. Oseni made four appearances for Waterford’s senior side off the bench in 2022, three of which came in the league, after featuring in their youth set-up.

The Season So Far...

The Under-21s won four games in a row going into Christmas to extend their unbeaten run to five matches, but their two outings in 2023 have seen them taste defeats to Southampton (3-0) and Nottingham Forest (7-2) on the road.

Three of the wins in their fine run came in the Premier League Cup for Pat Lyons’ side to reach the knockout stages of the competition, while a victory at Graham Street Prims in the Derbyshire Senior Cup set them up for a Fourth Round trip to Alfreton Town which, after being postponed earlier this month, will be played in early March.

In Premier League 2 - Division 2, Derby do have some work to do after tasting 11 defeats from 11 matches in the league so far in a challenging start to the season but their recent unbeaten run has provided a solid platform for them to kick-start their campaign.
