Conor Hourihane reflected on what he felt was a frustrating night at Pride Park Stadium as Derby County drew 1-1 against Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One.

The Rams midfielder got his side level in the 69th minute after the visitors, who took the lead just before half-time, were reduced to 10 men when Ben House saw red for a second bookable offence.

Speaking to RamsTV after the final whistle, Hourihane found positives in gaining a point as Derby extended their unbeaten home record in Sky Bet League One to nine games.

On a frustrating night…

We had some decent chances towards the end of the game. They pushed back and slowed things down. They tried to frustrate us and take a point away from the game, which they did. It felt like one of those frustrating nights from the off really. When they went down to 10 men, it gave us a bit of a lift. It was something we needed, a little bit of luck. You hope from there that you go on and win the game.

On the result..

It’s a point on the board. It’s been disappointing in the last couple of games; I don’t think we’ve played too badly but we’ve not got the results unfortunately. It just shows how quickly football can change.

On the expectations…

At home, we’re expected to win all of our games, that’s just the magnitude of the club that we’re at. There are high expectations all the time but sometimes football doesn’t work like that. It’s a case of taking one point tonight, and hopefully, on Saturday against Charlton, we’ll get three.
