Derby County have added Tottenham Hotspur’s Harvey White to their squad for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
The midfielder has joined Head Coach Paul Warne’s side on loan from the Premier League outfit for the final four months of the campaign.
White, who has been capped at England youth international level, came off the bench for Antonio Conte’s side in their 4-0 success against Crystal Palace earlier this month to make his top-flight bow.
The 21-year-old has made three senior appearances for the North London outfit in total, having also featured in the Emirates FA Cup and UEFA Europa League.
White also has experience of playing in Sky Bet League One after enjoying a loan spell at Portsmouth in the 2020/21 campaign.
He is Derby’s third addition of the January Transfer Window after the recent loan signings of Tony Springett and Luke McGee from Norwich City and Forest Green Rovers respectively.
Harvey White In Profile
White is a product of Tottenham’s Academy set-up and, after coming through their youth ranks, he was handed professional terms.
After appearing regularly and impressing at Under-18 and later Under-21 level for Tottenham, wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions, he gained senior experience in the Papa Johns Trophy in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.
His progress was rewarded when he was included in a Premier League matchday squad for the first time as an unused substitute against Manchester United in June 2020, before Jose Mourinho handed White his senior debut that November, bringing him off the bench in a 4-0 home win over Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League.
He went on to make his first senior start in January 2021, playing the full 90 minutes as Tottenham ran out 5-0 winners in the Third Round of the FA Cup at non-league side Marine.
White went on to spend the rest of the 2020/21 season out on loan with Portsmouth in League One and he racked up 22 appearances in total as he gained important senior experience.
He also scored his first senior goal in Pompey’s 1-0 win at Oxford United in February 2021 and was named in the starting line-up for the Papa Johns Trophy Final against Salford City later in the season.
The midfielder returned to his parent club for the 2021/22 season and featured for their Under 21s and played in Tottenham’s three Papa Johns Trophy games, scoring twice in a 4-3 win at Stevenage.
The first half of the current campaign saw White record two further Papa Johns Trophy appearances, against Wycombe Wanderers and Peterborough United, as well as his brief cameo off the bench earlier this month as Conte’s side registered an emphatic win at Crystal Palace.
White has two caps to his name at England at Under-18 level, the first of which came in May 2019 against Spain.
