Derby County were held to a 1-1 draw away at Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon.

James Collins put the Rams in the lead early in the first-half but a late Victor Adeboyejo strike levelled things up and ensured both sides had to settle for a point.

Major Moments

Derby started on the front-foot with Tom Barkhuizen delivering a handful of menacing crosses within the opening stages, the latter of which was headed just over by Collins.

Lewis Dobbin was the first to test home keeper Ben Garratt when he got on the end of a delightful cross from Louie Sibley but the Everton loanee's first-time volley was hit favourably into the chest of the Brewers number one.

Garratt was picking the ball out of his net soon after though when Collins headed Paul Warne's men in front. Conor Hourihane's pinpoint cross found Collins and the striker's header looped brilliantly over Garratt to give the Rams the lead.

The Brewers responded with their first effort of the game and it was very nearly an equaliser. John Brayford rose highest from a corner and headed towards goal but Joe Wildsmith was there to deny him with a superb save.

Brayford again was the next to test Wildsmith with a strike from distance but the Rams number one was at full-stretch to tip it around for a corner.

After the short spell of pressure from the hosts the Rams regained control and had two chances to go in front before the break. Lovely interplay on both occasions resulted in efforts from McGoldrick and Hourihane respectively both both fired inches wide of the post.

Derby nearly doubled their advantage almost instantly following the restart. A long ball over the top caught everyone out and saw Dobbin sent through on goal but the young forward blazed over the top under pressure from the defender.

The hosts also looked more threatening after the break and had two good chances to level things. Substitute Tyler Onyango forced Wildsmith into a smart save before Corrie Ndaba headed a brilliant chance wide from six-yards out.

Things were becoming far more end-to-end as the game progressed with both sides having further opportunities to score. Tom Hamer headed a cross from substitute Haydon Roberts off of the line before Bobby Kamwa finessed an effort inches wide of Wildsmith's post up the other end.

The Brewers continued to waste good chances with both Kamwa and Joe Dodoo blazing wide with just the keeper to beat.

But their equaliser did come as we entered the final 10 minutes. A corner from the left wasn't dealt with and Victor Adeboyejo was in the right place to nod home from just a couple of yards out.

The Rams were below their best in the second-half but nearly snatched it in the dying minutes through William Osula. McGoldrick found the substitute with a low cross but his effort was bravely charged down and blocked by the Brewers stopper.

Seven minutes of additional time were signalled but neither side were able to find a winner. The result means Derby stretch their unbeaten run to 11 games in all competitions.
