Derby County Head Coach Paul Warne and members of his coaching staff will be raising welcome funds for Prostate Cancer UK during November.
Warne, along with Assistant Head Coach Richie Barker, First Team Coach Matt Hamshaw, First Team Goalkeeper Coach Andy Warrington and Head of Performance Luke Jenkinson, will take part in Prostate United over the course of November.
Prostate United, now in its fifth year, is a fundraising challenge taking place throughout November for staff members working for professional football clubs and the Rams’ quintet will be running 5k a day during the month to raise funds.
In these testing financial times if any Derby supporters wish to show their support to Warne, Barker, Hamshaw, Warrington and Jenkinson as they aim to achieve a fundraising target of £5,000, they can do so by visiting: justgiving.com/fundraising/derbycountyfc.
About Prostate Cancer UK
Prostate Cancer UK's top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. They invest millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.
The Prostate Cancer Charity was founded in 1996 by Professor Jonathan Waxman to address the 'Outrageous and arbitrary surgical treatment of men'.
They were the first national organisation for prostate cancer in the UK. Prostate Cancer UK’s aim was to improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research, and raise public and political awareness of a long-neglected disease.
Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, they aim to stop prostate cancer being a killer.
