Derby County will take another step-up in their pre-season games programme 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season on Tuesday night when they head south to face League Two outfit Stevenage in their penultimate pre-season friendly fixture (7:30pm kick-off).
Team News
Interim Manager Liam Rosenior has no fresh injury concerns from the weekend’s 1-0 friendly win over Hertha Berlin at Pride Park Stadium.
Rosenior is, however, likely to shuffle his pack in order to offer some of those players that didn’t start against the German outfit the chance to get significant match minutes under their belts, so the likes of Louie Sibley Liam Thompson and Eiran Cashin are expected to start.
Recent signing Korey Smith will have his situation assessed
after only training with the Derby squad for the first time on Monday. The versatile
31-year-old, who can play at full back and in midfield, joined the Rams as a
free agent on Saturday following his departure from Swansea City at the end of
last season.
Krystian Bielik has not featured in Derby's friendlies so far as a result of sitting out the start of pre-season training whilst recovering from a minor knee problem sustained whilst on international duty with Poland in June. The midfielder is gradually being eased back into training with no thought placed on rushing him back into action.
