Derby County’s Under-23s fell to a late 2-0 defeat at Chelsea in Premier League 2 - Division 1 on Saturday afternoon.

Pat Lyons’ side, who played the latter stages with ten men, conceded two goals in added time against the Blues.

Trialist Reece Hutchinson saw red with 81 minutes played in the lead-up to the hosts being awarded a penalty, but Harvey Vale failed to find the back of the net from 12 yards.

With Derby seemingly on their way to claiming a welcome point on their travels, the home side found the back of the net twice in added time to claim all three points.

George McEachran broke the deadlock with 91 minutes played before substitute Bryan Fiabema confirmed the victory for Chelsea in the dying seconds.

Derby’s Under-23s return to Premier League 2 - Division 1 action with a home fixture at Pride Park Stadium against Crystal Palace next Friday night (7pm kick-off).
