Participants, staff and supporters of Derby County Community Trust are embarking on covering 100K across the month of April on foot, bike or any other mode of non-motorised transport!
The challenge will run from Friday 1st April to Friday 30th April with all participants tracking their progress and encouraging donations for their efforts.
All funds raised will support the Community Trust’s most vital projects, from keeping provision accessible for children with additional needs all the way through to supporting care homes and their residents.
As part of the month-long challenge, members of staff at the Community Trust are committing to supporting the cause too, with plans for a cycling and running challenge in place for later in the month.
Emma Pilgrim, Fundraising and Events Manger at Derby County Community Trust, said: “The Active in April challenge is inspiring people to get back into activity as restrictions ease and some of our sessions are able to resume.
“Whilst keeping active themselves, their fundraising efforts are hugely appreciated by us all in what has been an extremely difficult 12 months for charities across the country.
“We’ve had uptake from participants from so many of our programmes, and even have a whole school signed up!”
The challenge will remain open for the month and all supporters will receive a tailored pack with advice, fundraising tips and a tracker to keep note of their distances.
