Derby County Women boss Sam Griffiths has hailed the fantastic support her side has received so far this season and is encouraging fans to attend their next home match against AFC Fylde Women on Sunday 18th October (2pm kick-off).
The Ewe Rams, who play their home fixtures at Mickleover FC, sit second in the FA Women’s National League Northern Division after three successive victories and tickets are now on sale for their upcoming fixture this weekend.
Griffiths’ side comfortably beat Sheffield FC Women 5-1 at the weekend and she believes seeing a regular following has helped her side relax as momentum builds.
“It’s fantastic to see the support we have got this season both home and away,” Griffiths said. “We are creating a good following and other teams are noticing the support we are getting and commenting positively about it.
“It really does make a difference and helps to relax the squad going into games, particularly at home and they have taken that positivity into their recent matches and are repaying them with their performances.
“We want to put on those performances that bring fans back, we’ve seen lots of new faces this season and they are returning for more.
“We have set-up a quick and easy-to-use system for tickets and we have all the safety measures in place and we are being rewarded with great crowds and I’m sure that boost will help us to go for 4 straight wins.”
